Dafni Beach is situated on the southern coast of Zakynthos, approximately 15 kilometers southwest of Zakynthos Town. It’s nestled between the villages of Vasilikos and Keri, in an area known for its natural beauty and biodiversity. Dafni Beach is accessible by car via a winding coastal road from Zakynthos Town or other parts of the island.
Dafni Beach is known for its unspoiled natural beauty, featuring soft golden sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters. The beach is backed by scenic cliffs and hillsides covered in lush vegetation, creating a tranquil and picturesque setting.
One of the highlights of Dafni Beach is its importance as a nesting site for loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta). The beach is part of the National Marine Park of Zakynthos, and efforts are made to protect the nesting sites of these endangered turtles. During the nesting season (May to October), visitors may have the opportunity to see turtle nests and possibly witness hatchlings making their way to the sea.
While Dafni Beach is relatively undeveloped compared to some of the more popular beaches on Zakynthos, it does offer some basic facilities such as sunbeds and umbrellas for rent during the summer months. There are also a few tavernas and beach bars nearby where visitors can enjoy refreshments and local cuisine.
Renting a car, scooter, or ATV in Zakynthos from Famozo Rentals is a fantastic way to explore the island’s stunning landscapes and beautiful beaches at your own pace.
