Gerakas Beach is situated on the southeastern tip of Zakynthos, approximately 18 kilometers south of Zakynthos Town. It’s located near the village of Vasilikos and is part of the National Marine Park of Zakynthos.
Gerakas Beach is accessible by car via a well-marked road from Zakynthos Town or other parts of the island. The road offers scenic views of the surrounding countryside as it winds its way towards the beach. Gerakas Beach is renowned for its natural beauty, featuring soft golden sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters.
The beach is backed by dramatic cliffs and lush greenery, creating a picturesque and tranquil setting. The surrounding area is also known for its rich biodiversity and stunning coastal landscapes. Like Dafni Beach, Gerakas Beach is an important nesting site for loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta).
The calm and shallow waters of Gerakas Beach make it ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Visitors can also enjoy sunbathing on the sandy shore or exploring the surrounding coastal trails.
Gerakas Beach offers basic facilities such as sunbeds and umbrellas for rent during the summer months. There are also a few tavernas and cafes nearby where visitors can enjoy refreshments and local cuisine.
Renting a car, scooter, or ATV in Zakynthos from Famozo Rentals is a fantastic way to explore the island’s stunning landscapes and beautiful beaches at your own pace.
